The little mermaid fell in love with the prince whose life she once saved, so she went to the sea witch, and asked for help. The sea witch agreed to turn her into a human in exchange for her voice. The mermaid was found by the prince soon after, but since she couldn’t speak, the prince never knew it was her who saved him; and he married someone else. The little mermaid turned into a sea-foam in the end because she refused to kill the prince- if she killed him, she would have turned back into a mermaid.
