THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf. So this story begins, “The very hungry caterpillar”. This book follows the ravenous caterpillar’s path as he eats his way through one apple on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, and so on, through cherry pie and sausage---until he is really fat and has stomach pain.

This story interprets how to have good nutrition by avoiding too much eating. The Caterpillar is not very hungry, but he also has unusual tastes in food and it also emphasizes the numbers and days of the week.
